The halls of Pivot Charter School were bursting with color, creativity, and holiday cheer during our 3rd Annual Holidays Around the World Door Decorating Contest! Each homeroom was assigned a different country, challenging students to transform their classroom doors into vibrant celebrations of unique winter holiday traditions from around the globe.

This year's contest was nothing short of spectacular! Students and teachers brought their A-game, creating cultural masterpieces filled with festive flair, dazzling decorations, and heartfelt creativity. The level of effort and imagination on display was absolutely inspiring, making this one of our most exciting contests yet.

After much deliberation, the judges had the tough task of choosing the winners from an incredible lineup of entries. Congratulations to our standout stars: Ms. O and Ms. Higa, who tied for Best Overall; Mr. Thomas, who secured 1st Place; Ms. Laing, who earned 2nd Place; and both Ms. Zambrano and Ms. Emmy, who tied for 3rd Place. Every door told a story, showcasing the rich customs, vibrant colors, and beautiful traditions from countries around the world. Students poured their hearts into researching, designing, and decorating, and the results were truly breathtaking.

While the contest was filled with festive fun, it also provided an incredible learning opportunity. Students dove into cross-cultural exploration, discovering new traditions, historical backgrounds, and holiday customs from different parts of the world. This hands-on project helped students develop important skills, including research, project management, and teamwork. Students became mini-explorers, gathering fascinating facts about their assigned countries and learning how to present their findings creatively. From brainstorming ideas to executing their designs, they practiced planning, organizing, and problem-solving—all while working collaboratively to bring their visions to life. The contest also fostered a strong sense of school spirit, with the excitement, teamwork, and cultural pride shining through every decorated door.

Pivot Charter School extends heartfelt thanks to all the students, teachers, and staff who participated and made this event such a festive, fun, and meaningful experience. The creativity and enthusiasm displayed by everyone involved filled our halls with joy and holiday magic, leaving a lasting impact on our school community.
